Tips For Safe Motorcycling

There have been a great increase in the number of motorists on the road who are using motorcycles nowadays. Motorcycles seem to be becoming an “in” thing or a trend that most men want to follow. In fact, some of the hottest names in hollywood also own and drive their own set of awesome motorcycles, some even vintage while some pimped out to the max! But whatever kind, brand or type of motorcycle it may be, each and every motorcycle still needs to undergo a few periodic check up maintenance to ensure the condition the motorcycle is in. Well, the motorcycle owners out there are very lucky today. Because I will provide you with a check list of the things you need to periodically check up on in order to guarantee that your ride is in its top notch form. Here they are:

1. The first thing you need to remember is to check the battery! It does not have to be checked every once in a while, but you have to make sure that you check it constantly and consistently. You should check if the connections are all tight and well in place and at the same time take a look at the electrolyte level on the battery if the situation calls for it.

2. Check your wheel bearings! Check them if they are properly aligned and none of them are going sideways. If you do not do this periodically, then the chances of you getting into an accident will be most likely higher. In relation to this, you should also check your nuts and bolts if all of them are screwed on tight. If again you neglect to inspect this, you might have a higher chance of getting into accidents which relate to lacking of control of the motorcycle’s movements.

3. Next, you should always check the fluid levels of your breaks. You should also consistently check the hoses if there is deterioration and the pads and shoes should maintain its thickness. Again, the checking of breaks is very crucial because the break is an important function and feature in a motorcycle. Improper maintenance of breaks will result to more accidents!

4. Laslty, the cable and levers should be smoothly operating and all the parts should be well lubricated for its smooth flow and movement. The swing arm bearing should also be checked because it should be properly aligned straight and there should not be any sideways movement.

Not so bad, right? Well, lucky for you, things like motorcycle service manuals, motorcycle repair manuals and motorcycle workshop manuals make life easier for motorists!
